FAQ:
How much does it cost?
Contestants must pay a non-refundable entry fee of $200. This must be turned in with paperwork
by the orientation date.
How old do I have to be?
Contestants must be ages 13-17 and not a senior in high school.
What is a ‘Platform’ and how do I choose one?
A platform is simply something that you’re passionate about. Find a cause or charity
that you know a lot about or that you would like to support. (i.e: Bullying, Promoting a Healthy Lifestyles for Teens, Make
a Wish Foundation, etc.)
What kind of clothes do I need?
There is no need to buy brand new items to compete. We recommend borrowing clothes if you don’t
have them already. You will need an opening number outfit (to be determined), black gym shorts, a talent outfit, a gown for
evening wear (could be a homecoming or prom dress), and an interview outfit.
What are the areas of competition?
Interview (35%), Talent (35%), Lifestyle and Fitness in Sports Wear (10%), Evening Wear (15%),
and On-Stage Question (5%).
What do I get if I win?
If we have enough girls compete, we will crown two winners: Miss Omaha Outstanding Teen and
Miss Douglas County Outstanding Teen. Winners will receive a crown, a sash, a cash prize, and the opportunity to represent
our city at the Miss Nebraska Outstanding Teen Pageant. The winner if Miss Nebraska Outstanding Teen will receive the opportunity
to represent our state at Miss America Outstanding Teen in Orlando, FL.
When is the pageant?
The 2012 Miss Omaha/Douglas County Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held in conjunction with the Miss
Omaha/Miss Douglas County Pageant on October 13, 2012.
Where is the pageant held?
The 2012 pageant will be held at the Jewish Community Center on 132nd in between
Dodge and Pacific in Omaha, Nebraska.
What are the judges looking for?
The judges will be looking for a well spoken, energetic, confident, talented, outgoing and approachable
teenager with great role model and leadership qualities!
What happens if I win?
It means you are eligible for the Nebraska Outstanding Teen Pageant. There is a $350 entry
fee to compete at the State Level, if you win Nebraska you go to National's in Orlando.
